Land Clearing & Forestry Mulching | Heritage Land & Habitat | Austin, TX
Greater Austin, Texas · Land Clearing

Open up your land — the right way.

Forestry mulching, cedar and brush removal, fence lines, and build-site prep. We clear what's choking your property while protecting the trees, cover, and value worth keeping.

The Difference

The skill isn't knocking things down. It's knowing what to leave.

Anybody with a machine can flatten a property. The problem is that clearing is permanent — you can always cut more next year, but you can't put a fifty-year-old oak back. Scrape land clean and you've often destroyed the exact cover, shade, and value that made it worth owning.

We clear with a plan. Cedar, invasive brush, and overgrowth choking out the good stuff comes out; mature hardwoods, wildlife cover, and erosion-holding vegetation stay. Done right, clearing opens up your land, improves its health, and raises its value. Done wrong, it's money spent making land worse.

What We Clear

From heavy cedar to a clean build site.

Whatever the job calls for, matched to your land and your goals.

— 01

Forestry Mulching

One machine grinds brush and small trees into mulch that stays on-site — no burn piles, no hauling. Fast, low-impact, and it leaves a clean, natural finish that helps hold soil.

— 02

Cedar & Brush Removal

Eastern red cedar and invasive brush soak up water and crowd out natives. We take it out and give your good trees, grasses, and wildlife room to come back.

— 03

Lot & Land Clearing

Overgrown acreage brought back to usable, walkable, workable ground — selectively, so the property is opened up rather than stripped bare.

— 04

Fence Lines & Right-of-Ways

Clear, straight fence lines and access corridors so you can run new fence, gain access, or reclaim ground the brush has taken over.

— 05

Pad & Build-Site Prep

Clearing and grubbing a clean, stable footprint for a home, barn, or shop — with access and drainage considered from the start.

— 06

Underbrush & Selective Clearing

Thinning underbrush while keeping the canopy and mature trees — the park-like, healthy look that improves habitat and property value.

How We Do It

Walk it, plan it, clear it.

Good clearing is deliberate. We take the time to get the plan right before the machines start, so you end up with more property value, not less.

01

Walk & Plan

We walk the property with you and agree on what comes out and what stays — the cedar and junk brush versus the trees, cover, and edges worth protecting.

02

Clear With the Right Method

Mulching, grubbing, or heavier clearing — matched to the density and terrain so we remove what you don't want without tearing up the ground you're keeping.

03

Leave It Better

We finish clean, keep erosion in mind, and hand back land that's opened up and healthier — ready for whatever you're building toward.

The right equipment for the job — not the brochure.

We run forestry mulchers, tracked skid steers, excavators, and bulldozers — whatever the density and terrain actually call for. Heavy cedar, tight underbrush work, or a full grub for a build pad each want a different machine, and matching the tool to the job protects the land you're keeping instead of chewing it up.

What It Costs

Honest, walk-the-property pricing.

Clearing price comes down to density, terrain, and access — but here's a real-world starting point.

Light forestry mulchingScattered brush & small trees, open ground
$1,500 – $2,500 / acre
Moderate to heavy mulchingDense cedar & brush
$2,500 – $4,500 / acre
Fence lines & right-of-waysPriced by the length & density of the line
By the job
Pad prep & full grubbingClear, grub & rough-grade a build site
By the job

Density is everything with clearing — an acre of scattered brush and an acre of solid cedar are very different jobs. We walk it, look at what's actually there, and give you an honest number.

Why It Matters

Cleared right, land pays you back.

Reclaim Usable Land

Turn overgrown, impassable acreage back into ground you can actually use, walk, and build on.

Healthier Property

Pulling cedar and invasive brush frees up water and sunlight for the trees and grasses you want.

Better for Wildlife

Selective clearing creates the openings and edges wildlife need — without stripping their cover.

Adds Real Value

Thoughtfully opened-up land shows better, sells better, and is worth more than a scraped lot.

Common Questions

What landowners ask first.

Forestry mulching uses one machine to grind brush and small trees into mulch that stays on the ground. There are no burn piles and nothing to haul off, it's lower-impact on the soil, and the mulch helps hold moisture and prevent erosion. Traditional clearing and grubbing removes root systems too, which is what you want for a build pad — different jobs, different tools.

Almost never. Mature hardwoods, wildlife cover, and vegetation along creeks and slopes are assets you can't easily replace. We push most landowners toward selective clearing — taking out the cedar and junk brush while keeping what gives the property its value and health.

It depends almost entirely on density. Light, scattered brush might run $1,500–$2,500 an acre; heavy cedar can run $2,500–$4,500 or more. Fence lines and build-pad prep are usually quoted by the job. We walk the property before quoting so the number reflects what's actually there.

With mulching, the material is ground up and stays on-site as a natural ground cover — no piles, no hauling. For heavier clearing and grubbing, we handle debris and stumps as part of the plan we agree on up front.

It can if it's done carelessly. Stripping vegetation off ground that's holding soil invites washouts in the next big rain. We keep cover where it's doing erosion-control work and pair clearing with proper drainage where needed.

Yes. We run forestry mulchers, skid steers, excavators, and bulldozers, and match the machine to the job — a full grub for a build pad calls for different equipment than selective underbrush work.
